Mortal Kombat 2 Trailer Out: Warner Bros. has officially dropped the much-awaited trailer for Mortal Kombat 2, the sequel to the 2021 reboot of the well-known video game series. The movie is scheduled to release in cinemas on 24th October 2025, and fans are already buzzing about the new look. With intense fight scenes, fresh characters, and a touch of nostalgia, the sequel looks set to offer an action-packed experience for viewers.

One of the biggest highlights of the trailer is Karl Urban, known for his role in The Boys, who joins the cast as Johnny Cage. Johnny is a popular character from the original video games who is a flashy Hollywood actor and martial artist famous for his cool moves and sunglasses. Fans are eager to see how Urban brings the bold and confident fighter to life in the film.

New Characters Join The Mortal Kombat Universe

The sequel will also introduce several new faces from the Mortal Kombat world. Adeline Rudolph plays Kitana, a warrior princess skilled with steel fans. Tati Gabrielle joins as Jade, Kitana’s childhood friend who uses a bo staff in battle. Damon Herriman will appear as Quan Chi, a dark sorcerer, and Martyn Ford takes on the role of Shao Kahn, the powerful ruler of Outworld. Ana Thu Nguyen plays Queen Sindel, Kitana’s mother, and Desmond Chiam is cast as King Jerrod, her father. CJ Bloomfield appears as Baraka, a fierce and scary fighter known for his sharp claws and intense look.

Meanwhile, Mortal Kombat 2 will also see the return of many characters from the 2021 movie. Lewis Tan returns as Cole Young, the original lead introduced in the first movie. Jessica McNamee is back as Sonya Blade, and Ludi Lin returns as Liu Kang, who fights with fire powers. Mehcad Brooks plays Jax once again, the fighter with strong bionic arms. Josh Lawson returns as the wild and unpredictable Kano, while Chin Han reprises his role as the sorcerer Shang Tsung. Tadanobu Asano also returns as Raiden, the god of thunder, along with Hiroyuki Sanada as Scorpion and Joe Taslim as Sub-Zero. Max Huang will once again appear as Kung Lao, known for his deadly hat.

On the other hand, Simon McQuoid, who directed the first Mortal Kombat movie, is back to direct the sequel. With the trailer now out and the release date getting closer, fans are excited to dive back into the world of Mortal Kombat.
