Joshua Blackledge, a West Carteret High School student in the eleventh grade, passed away, the Carteret County Public School Foundation reported on Wednesday. The 16 year old rose to stardom with his lip syncing videos on TikTok. 

Joshua Blackledge's school confirmed the news through social media post, which read, "It is with deep sadness that we share, at the request of his family, the passing of Joshua Blackledge, an 11th-grade student at West Carteret High School. Our hearts go out to his family, friends, and the entire school community during this difficult time."

Who Was Joshua Blackledge?

Joshua Blackledge was a 16 year old TikTok influencer. The cause of death has not been disclosed by his family. He had more than 1.1 million TikTok followers while he was only a junior at West Carteret High School.

Joshua Blackledge loved the outdoors, vehicles, and hanging out with loved ones, according to his obituary, which was made public by Noe-Brooks Funeral Home.

Joshua Blackledge regularly flaunted his white BMW and, more recently, a brand-new white truck on TikTok, where he had amassed a following of almost a million. His girlfriend, Emmie Gillikin was also a familiar face on his social media account. They celebrated their eight month anniversary recently early in March.

Joshua Blackledge is survived by his brother, Josiah Blackledge, and parents, Jonathan and Jackie Blackledge of Newport. On Sunday, family and friends came together in Newport to celebrate his life and pay tribute to the late TikToker.
