It was a decade ago when Zayn Malik announced that he will no longer be a part of the popular boyband One Direction, leaving fans in a deep state of shock. In a notable business development, newly released filings show that the 32-year-old Pillowtalk singer has been reinstated as an Active Director of the group’s long-standing company, PPM Music Limited.
Documents filed with Companies House on November 3 show that Zayn Malik has been reinstated as an Active Director of PPM Music Limited, the company originally formed during One Direction’s ascent on The X Factor. The filings also list him as a Person with Significant Control (PSC), confirming that he holds substantial influence over the business. Malik had previously stepped down from the directorship on June 20, 2026, exactly a year after his widely publicised exit from the group in 2015.
First reported by The Sun, the development quickly sparked excitement and speculation among fans. Though the change is administrative for now, many view it as a promising sign of renewed closeness within the band, especially in the wake of Liam Payne’s passing.
The Sun cited a music source who said: "This is a huge moment... While heartbreaking, Liam's passing has brought them together, it's even more sad he was the biggest cheerleader of a reunioun. PPM was the original company they set up when they appeared on the show. The name stands for Princess Park Manor, the private gated complex they were moved into when they won the show."
Liam Payne's death: In a shocking turn of events, Liam Payne died in October 2024 after he fell from the third floor of a hotel in Argentina. According to toxicology reports, Liam Payne was found with cocaine, alcohol and an antidepressant at the time of his death.
