Alabama Shooting:  At least four people lost their lives while dozens suffered gunshot injuries after multiple shooters targeted a bar in Alabama late Saturday night, the police said. Officers responded to 911 calls reporting a mass shooting incident in the Five Points South area in Birmingham around 11 pm. Multiple victims were reported dead and injured.

Three victims died on the spot, while the fourth victim lost his life in the hospital, ABC News reported. The police suspect that multiple shooters were involved in the gruesome act, however, no arrests have been made as of yet.

“BPD officers are on the scene of multiple people shot with possibly multiple casualties. Five Points South area. Public Information Division is en route and will be providing Media Partners with live updates,” the Alabama police said in a post on social media platform X.

Birmingham Police Officer Truman Fitzgerald suspected that a switch - a device that can convert a semi-automatic gun into a fully automatic weapon - was used in the attack, WBHM news reported. While reports suggested that the shooting might have taken place in a nightclub, police said that they found victims out in the open.

Four of the injured are facing life-threatening situations as they are being treated at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital for gunshot wounds.
