NFL Draft 2025: The NFL's official X account recorded a heartwarming moment, where Will Howard was seen with his family after getting picked. His mother gave him a tight hug whereas his other family members applauded for him and came out in support.
The Pittsburg Steelers chose Howard as their 185th player during the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

But the team did talk about lots of issues before picking the Quarterback. They first picked DT Derrick Harmon during the first round. Pittsburg then included two more defensive players and then chose Howard on the third day.
Choosing Quarterback depth has been a priority for the Steelers during the off-season, where Aaron Rogers was associated with the team, although there was no deal signed. Mason Rudolph, who made a comeback to Pittsburg, after playing for the Titans, is their preferred starter for now.
Will Howard, who came from Kansas State to Ohio, took advantage while playing for the Buckeyes. After playing in 16 matches, he threw at a distance of 4,000 yards, which also includes 1150 yards in four CFP matchups. His season consisted of 35 passing TDs, 10 interceptions, and seven rushing scores.
During his college, he played as a backup at Kansas State, where he played matches as a replacement for his injured teammates. He now plays as a forward for the Steelers and will aim to continue his prowess during his last college season.
Will Howard’s parents helped shape his early path?
During November last year, in an interaction with NBC4 Columbus, Will Howards' parents, Bob and Maureen Howard, reckoned that they first saw Howard's natural potential at the young age of 2, and remembered how he made basketball shots in their basement.
After this, the Howards supported this decision to pursue this sport as his career.
"[Starting] when he was 2 years old [and] he was shooting baskets in our basement and making them, we just kind of said, 'There's something a little different about him," Bob was quoted as saying on NBC4 Columbus.
Bob Howard went to Penn State University for his undergraduate in finance and then he got a master's degree in counseling psychology from Villanova University. He started his career in real estate finance and then changed to entrepreneurship.
Maureen Howard got her bachelor's degree in Biology from Delaware and then completed her master's in physical therapy at Temple University. She currently works as a pediatric physical therapist.
Way back in 2008, the couple started the Baby Merlin Company with the help of Maureen's Magic sleepsuit, which helps infants sleep more comfortably.
