As the investigation of the Trump rally shooting incident is still ongoing, a new video has emerged showing a graphical reticle placed at the head of US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. The footage clearly shows Thomas Crooks’ perfectly aimed headshot. It could have claimed the life of former US president Donald Trump if he had not tilted his head.

The footage, filmed by C3PMeme, a meme creator, and posted by journalist Collin Rugg, shows Trump’s face and head in a gun’s crosshair and him tilting his head as he addresses the audience.

According to a social media post on X by US journalist Mario Nawfal, "The video shows Trump narrowly avoiding a precisely aimed shot. Close-up footage reveals Thomas Crook's crosshairs centered perfectly on Trump's head... The clip was recorded mere seconds before the attempt."

The assassination attempt on Trump took place at his rally in Pennsylvania on Sunday where the gunman, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, who had just earned a spot at a college engineering program, targeted Trump from about 400 feet away. He fired several shots at Trump, clipping the former president’s ear, killing an audience member and injuring two others before Secret Service snipers killed him with counterfire.

Meanwhile, President Biden has also ordered an independent review of the Secret Service's handling of the attempted assassination of Trump, which the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is also investigating as a potential case of domestic terrorism.

Biden has additionally renewed his call for stronger gun control and said that it’s time to ban assault weapons like the one used in the shooting at a Trump campaign rally.
