Former US president and Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has agreed to debate with his Democratic opponent Kamala Harris on September 10. Trump confirmed his participation in a post on his social media platform Truth Social on Tuesday.

Sharing a post on his social media platform, Trump said, "I have reached an agreement with the Radical Left Democrats for a debate with Comrade Kamala Harris. It will be broadcast live on ABC FAKE NEWS, by far the nastiest and most unfair newscaster in the business, on Tuesday, September 10th, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania."

“Harris would not agree to the FoxNews debate on September 4th, but that date will be held open in case she changes her mind or, Flip Flops, as she has done on every single one of her long-held and cherished policy beliefs. A possible third debate, which would go to NBC FAKE NEWS, has not been agreed to by the Radical Left. GOD BLESS AMERICA!,” the post further read.

Following a statement from the former US President over the weekend, there’s speculation that the debate might be cancelled due to ongoing disagreements between the campaigns regarding the debate rules.

However, Trump confirmed that the rules for the upcoming ABC debate will be the same as the format of his previous CNN debate with Joe Biden. While he didn’t explicitly address the use of microphones, Trump affirmed that the rules would remain consistent, including provisions for muted mics. He also stated that the debate would be conducted "stand up" and barred candidates from using notes or "cheat sheets."

Notably, Joe Biden stepped down from the presidential race after receiving massive backlash over concerns about his age. Biden dabbed his eyes at the Democratic National Convention as he walked on stage and delivered his speech.

“I made a lot of mistakes in my career, but I gave my best to you. For 50 years, like many of you, I gave my heart and soul to our nation, and I’ve been blessed a million times in return,” he told the delegates, in a speech that lasted almost an hour.
