Agra News: In a shocking incident in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra, a young man chose the path of online fraud to fulfill his girlfriend’s demand for Diwali shopping. The man took the woman to a showroom in Kamla Nagar market and bought several items. After this, he showed a fake message for the online payment of the bill through a mobile app and took away the goods. When the showroom owner did not receive the money in her bank account, a complaint was registered with the police and the accused was arrested, jagran.com reported.
Sequence Of Events
Simran of Tej Nagar in Kamla Nagar had filed a case. She told the police that she has a clothes and artificial jewellery shop in Kamla Nagar market. On October 21, a young man and a young woman came to the shop. The woman bought clothes and jewellery. After packing, the young man asked for a QR code saying that he will make an online payment. He showed the payment message on his mobile and quickly took the goods and left with the woman.
When the account balance was checked on the mobile, no payment was received. After this, a complaint was made to the police. In-charge Inspector Kamla Nagar Nishamak Tyagi informed that after scanning the CCTV cameras, the number of the accused's scooty was found. The accused Shivam Gehlot alias Golu lives in Arjun Nagar near Kargil Petrol Pump. He was arrested and the clothes, artificial jewellery, mobile and the scooty used in the crime were recovered.

Conspiracy To Make Girlfriend Happy
On being questioned by the police, the accused Shivam told that while working in a finance company in Sanjay Place, he had befriended a girl from Loha Mandi. The girl was insisting on getting clothes as a gift on Diwali. The man used to keep an app downloaded on his mobile. Any QR code could be scanned using this app to create a fake payment message. He had cheated several people using the app for small payments when he went far away. For this reason, he had brought his girlfriend to Kamala Nagar, away from home.
