International Yoga Day 2025: In celebration of International Yoga Day on June 21, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has announced free entry to all monuments in Agra, including the Taj Mahal. Both Indian and foreign tourists will be granted free access on this day. However, those wishing to visit the main mausoleum of the Taj Mahal will still need to purchase an additional ticket costing Rs 200.

Apart from Yoga Day, the Taj Mahal is also free to visit for three days each year during the death anniversary of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. This annual event allows tourists unique access to the basement of the monument, where the actual tombs of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal are located- an area typically closed to the public.

The Taj Mahal is open daily from sunrise to sunset, except on Fridays. A regular entry ticket normally costs Rs 50 and is valid for three hours.
