The Union Budget 2026 has made significant allocations for the NCR, including Noida-Greater Noida, covering areas from infrastructure, healthcare, MSMEs and connectivity to data centres. Sectors such as the high-speed rail corridor, MSMEs, pharmaceuticals, improvements in health and transport, and semiconductors will play a significant role in the region's development.
Key Projects:
-High-Speed Rail Corridor - Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced the Delhi-Varanasi high-speed rail corridor in the budget, which will pass through Noida International Airport. This will reduce the travel time from Delhi to the airport to 21 minutes, accelerating the city's development.

-Emphasis on Enhancing Connectivity - The budget has emphasised enhancing connectivity between Delhi and the NCR. To ease connectivity, the Namo Train and metro network will be expanded. Additionally, a budget of Rs 2,200 crore has been allocated to the Regional Rail Transit System (RRTS), which is 25 per cent less than last year; however, the work on the Delhi-Meerut corridor has been completed.
-Noida to Become a Data Centre Hub - Gautam Buddh Nagar is set to become the country's leading data centre hub. This will boost foreign investment and strengthen job prospects. The country's data centre capacity is projected to increase to approximately 1.4 gigawatts by the second quarter of 2025 and to about 8 gigawatts by 2030.
-Medical Device Park - The Medical Device Park project in Sector 28 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) in Greater Noida is set to gain momentum. The central government has provided a grant of Rs 100 crore for the Medical Device Park, which will be used to establish 13 labs. This will employ thousands of people. The Centre has so far provided approximately Rs 60 crore to YEIDA in two instalments.
-A Women-Centric and MSME-Led Budget - The FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) has described the Union Budget as having a women-centric and MSME-led development agenda. FLO President Poonam Sharma stated that for women entrepreneurs and professionals, this budget is not about short-term concessions but about building long-term capacity, opportunity, and progress.
Measures such as girls' hostels in every district, better access to STEM education, 'She Marts' for women entrepreneurs, and targeted support for the livelihoods of persons with disabilities (Divyangjan) reinforce the government's commitment to people-centric and inclusive growth.
-Budget to Accelerate Infrastructure and Employment - The real estate sector has described the Union Budget as one that will accelerate the sector and also expand real estate into Tier 2 cities. The railway corridors will increase housing demand, strengthening the real estate sector and other related sectors.
Meanwhile, the development of data centres and industrial hubs will directly accelerate the growth of the real estate sector. Stalled projects will also be completed sooner with the SWAMIH fund, ending the wait for people's homes.
