For the convenience of passengers, the railway administration in UP has been upgrading trains with modern coaches. From March 24, the 15107/15108 Banaras-Lucknow-Banaras Express will feature modern LHB (Linke Hofmann Busch) rakes instead of conventional ones. 

Chief Public Relations Officer Pankaj Kumar Singh announced that the Lucknow-Banaras Express will now include 16 LHB coaches, comprising one generator-cum-luggage van, one LSLRD, five general second-class coaches, eight second-class chair cars, and one air-conditioned chair car.

Similarly, the 15132/15131 Varanasi City-Gorakhpur-Varanasi City Express and the 05131/05132 Gorakhpur-Bahraich-Gorakhpur special trains will also be upgraded with LHB rakes. 

The 15132 Varanasi City-Gorakhpur Express will run with 18 modern coaches from March 30, while the 15131 Gorakhpur-Varanasi City Express will follow on March 31. These will include six general second-class coaches, five sleeper-class coaches, two AC third-economy coaches, two AC third-class coaches, and one AC second-class coach.

To accommodate fairgoers during the Chaitra Amavasya Mela, the railway administration has added 18 extra coaches. Additionally, on March 28 and 29, several trains, including the 15011 Lucknow Jn.-Chandigarh Express, 22453 Lucknow Jn.-Meerut City Express, and others, will have a scheduled two-minute halt at Lodipur Bishanpur station on the Northern Railway route.

To manage increased passenger traffic during the summer vacation, North Eastern Railway’s Lucknow Division is ensuring that all passenger trains operate with a minimum of 12 coaches. This applies to all trains running on the Gomtinagar-Mailani-Pilibhit, Barhni-Anand Nagar-Gorakhpur, Gorakhpur-Narkatiaganj, and Gorakhpur-Siwan rail sections.

To enhance passenger convenience, Northern Railway’s Lucknow Division has decided to attach extra sleeper and third AC coaches to five Delhi-bound trains. Senior DCM Kuldeep Tiwari stated that:

-Train No. 14207 Padmavat Express will have an additional sleeper coach until March 27.

-Train No. 14208 Padmavat Express will have an extra sleeper coach from March 25-30.

-Train No. 14208 Ayodhya Cantt-Delhi Junction Express will include an additional sleeper coach from March 24-29.

-Train No. 14206 Delhi Junction-Ayodhya Cantt Express will have an extra sleeper coach until March 28.

-Train No. 14205 Ayodhya Cantt-Delhi Junction Express will have an additional third AC coach on March 28.

Train services on the Sitapur-Mailani section will be affected due to traffic and power blocks for girder erection and launching work at level crossing 99A between Hargaon and Lakhimpur stations.

-On April 9 and 10, Train No. 55081 Mailani-Sitapur Passenger and Train No. 55082 Sitapur-Mailani Passenger will be short-terminated/originated at Lakhimpur station, running only between Mailani and Lakhimpur and remaining canceled between Lakhimpur and Sitapur.

-On March 24-25 and April 11-13, Train No. 55081 Mailani-Sitapur Passenger will have a 25-minute stoppage en route.

The 154th quarterly Official Language Review Meeting of the Railway Board’s Official Language Implementation Committee recognised the Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO) for outstanding contributions. Railway Board Chairman and CEO Satish Kumar awarded RDSO the Railway Minister’s Official Language Shield Trophy and the Shiv Sagar Mishra Chal Vaijayanti as the second prize. 

The award was received by Chief Official Language Officer Dr Veena Kumari Vaman. Additionally, former Additional Director General Sharad Kumar Jain was honored with the Railway Minister’s Official Language Silver Medal and a citation for his significant role in promoting the official language policy.
