To help with the holiday rush and long waiting lists for tickets, Indian Railways has announced two special trains.

The first is an air-conditioned (AC) special train that will travel to Mumbai via Lucknow. Train number 09083 will leave from Mumbai Central every Wednesday at 11:10 pm, starting from September 17 until November 5. It will pass through Lucknow on Friday at 4:15 am and reach Banaras at 10:30 am the same day.

For the return journey, train number 09084 will leave from Banaras every Friday at 2:10 pm, from September 19 to November 7. This train will have First AC, Second AC and Third AC coaches and will stop at several stations including Surat, Vadodara, Kota, Kanpur Central and Lucknow.

The second special train is for Pune and will run daily starting from September 28. Train number 01415 will depart from Pune every day at 6:50 am, from September 27 to November 30. It will pass through Lucknow the next day at 10:05 am and arrive in Gorakhpur at 4:00 pm. On its way back, train number 01416 will leave Gorakhpur daily at 5:30 pm, from September 28 to December 1, and will reach Pune on the third day at 3:15 am. This train will have a mix of sleeper, general and AC coaches and will stop at stations like Bhopal, Jhansi, Kanpur Central, and Lucknow.
