Dengue cases are rising in the Ghaziabad'urban localities, while malaria is spreading in rural areas, according to a two-month report from the health department.
The highest number of dengue patients has been reported from Vaishali, Kaushambi, Indirapuram, Crossing Republik, Rajnagar, and Rajnagar Extension, with most patients admitted to private hospitals. In contrast, malaria cases are predominantly found in villages including Loni, Muradnagar, Bhojpur, Dasna, and Vijaynagar. For the first time in five years, the number of malaria patients has reached 80.
On Monday, six new dengue cases were reported in Rajnagar Extension, Vaishali, Vasundhara, Indirapuram, Garima Garden, and Muradnagar. Four cases were confirmed by government labs and two by private labs. One new malaria case was confirmed through government testing. Currently, 152 dengue patients are undergoing treatment, including five in the dengue ward of District MMG Hospital.
The District Surveillance Officer, RK Gupta, stated that notices were issued to 143 people after dengue mosquito larvae were found in different locations. He advised residents to sleep under mosquito nets and clean air conditioners and coolers regularly. He also cautioned that only paracetamol should be taken for fever, and other medicines should be consumed only after consulting a doctor.
