A road in the Bulandshahr Road Industrial Area, rebuilt at a cost of over Rs 8 crore, has effectively turned into a parking space, creating daily disruptions for commuters. Heavy vehicles parked along both sides of the stretch are narrowing the carriageway, resulting in severe traffic jams during peak hours and increasing the risk of accidents, especially at night.
The 800-metre road, connecting Mukherjee Park to GT Road, was reconstructed by the Municipal Corporation after years of deterioration. It was intended to be developed as a model road. However, after the management of industrial areas was transferred to UPSIDA, municipal monitoring weakened, allowing the road to be misused as a parking zone.

The Bulandshahr Road Industrial Area lacks dedicated parking facilities, leading to a growing concentration of trucks and heavy vehicles lining the road every day.
The route is used heavily by commuters travelling between RDC, Kavinagar, Nehru Nagar and nearby areas. School buses also pass through daily, yet no effective action has been taken to clear illegally parked vehicles. The stretch behind Mukherjee Park now resembles a full-scale parking lot.

ACP Traffic Jiyauddin Ahmed said: “Heavy vehicles will be removed from the road to prevent inconvenience to the public. In the past, fines were issued to vehicles parked illegally. A campaign will soon be launched again to seize such vehicles.”
