The automobile sector in Gorakhpur has witnessed a strong festive push this Sharadiya Navratri, with vehicle sales touching nearly 1,000 units in just two days. Traditionally considered auspicious, Ashtami and Navami saw families thronging showrooms to take delivery of new vehicles after performing puja rituals.
According to dealers, around 700 two-wheelers and 300 four-wheelers were sold on Tuesday and Wednesday. Showrooms in Mohaddipur and along Medical Road reported heavy customer footfall.

Dealers attribute the surge to both festive sentiment and revised GST benefits on vehicles and accessories. “This is the first time we have seen such good business during Navratri. Around 700 two-wheelers were sold in just two days, and people have also begun pre-booking for Dhanteras,” said Nitin Matanhelia of DP Motors. He added that 30-40 vehicles are being pre-booked daily.
Abhishek Agarwal, Director of Arbit, said the company has already placed advance orders with manufacturers to ensure timely deliveries for Dhanteras. “Along with GST discounts, attractive schemes on accessories are also drawing buyers,” he added.
