MP Vijay Kumar Dubey inaugurated the construction of a new Chhath Ghat at Sohasa-Dubauli Ghat on the Chhoti Gandak river, Gorakhpur, announcing in front of residents that a Muktidham (cremation ground) will also be developed soon on the river’s eastern bank.

The MP stated that the Chhath Ghat is being constructed for Rs 25 lakh, with work commencing immediately and efforts underway to complete it within a month. The foundation stone for the Muktidham will also be laid during the inauguration ceremony.

Addressing the gathering, Dubey highlighted various public welfare schemes run by the central and state governments, emphasising that development work aims to benefit every section of society and ensure that eligible residents receive the benefits of ongoing schemes.

Block Pramukh representative Sudhir Rao said the Chhath Ghat will become a major attraction for the area, with future plans to install lighting arrangements.

The event was presided over by Village Head Sevalal Yadav and attended by BJP leader Omprakash Jaiswal, Tekuatar Mandal President Rajesh Rao, Randhir Rao, Santosh Tiwari, Ramanand Mishra, Surya Prakash Shukla, Ashutosh, Sikandar, and others.
