A 25-year-old student of Greater Noida's NIET college, pursuing Master of Computer Applications (MCA), has died by suicide at his hostel room in Knowledge Park area.

The deceased has been identified as Krishnakant, a resident of Jharkhand. He was found dead on Saturday by the police.

The police, which reached the site after getting information, learned during the initial investigation that Krishnakant lived with another student, Ritik, in room number 79 on the third floor of the hostel and did not go to college on Saturday.

He had told his roommate that he would join the college later. In the afternoon, Krishnakant's father called his roommate, asking him to rush to the hostel immediately.

Krishankant's father told his roommate that he was "about to do something". Alarmed, Ritik contacted his friends at the hostel and asked them to check on Krishankant immediately.

When they reached the room, door was locked from the inside. They broke open the door and found Krishnakant hanging from the ceiling hook. Soon they contacted the police.

A suicide not was recovered from the site which read, "I give up. Please give my body and my things to my family. Sorry for the trouble."

While the exact reason behind the suicide is yet to be ascertained, Ritik told police that the deceased suffered from a severe head-related medical condition.

Krishnakant, though academically bright, whenever sat for long hours to study, his head would bend involuntarily, causing him distress. The issue started affecting his studies and daily life.

The police were probing the case and talking to friends, family and college authorities. The police are also examining Krishnakant’s mobile phone, recent behaviour and hostel entry. The police have added that all angles will be investigated in the case.
