A teen boy and girl were publicly beaten by his parents in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur on Friday. The boy, reportedly, was 21-year-old and his girlfriend was 19-year-old. The incident took place at the Ramgopal intersection in the Gujaini police station area in Kanpur. The whole incident got captured in a video which has gone viral on social media.

According to media reports, the man, identified as Rohit, was eating chowmein with his girlfriend when his parents, Shivkaran and Sushila, arrived at the scene. Disapproving of the relationship, the couple proceeded to physically assault both Rohit and his girlfriend.
"In this case, the police separated both the parties after counselling them and further necessary legal action is being taken," the police said in a statement, as per the NDTV report.

In the video, Sushila is seen attacking the young couple as they attempt to flee on a two-wheeler. She is shown grabbing the woman by the hair while local residents and passersby intervene to separate them. Rohit's father, also captured in the footage, can be seen hitting his son with a slipper.
In a separate incident, a video from Kanpur has gone viral, showing a woman engaging in celebratory gunfire while standing on a public road. The incident took place in the crowded Govind Nagar area, where the woman was seen boldly firing shots into the air.
Her reckless actions quickly attracted the attention of nearby residents and passersby, some of whom appeared to cheer her on despite the danger involved.
Initial investigations revealed that the man had loaded the weapon before passing it to the woman. Footage that quickly spread across social media showed multiple bystanders filming the incident on their phones while cheering her on.
ACP (Babupurwa) Dilip Kumar Singh, upon reviewing the evidence, said that the police took prompt action although the incident had taken place about a week ago. The police team conducted a thorough search of the area and recovered the airgun used in the incident.
