In an exemplary display of public participation in disaster relief, Lakhimpur Kheri has become the first district in Uttar Pradesh to distribute special CSR kits to flood-affected residents, in line with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision.
A total of 5,000 kits, costing Rs 4,500,000, have been prepared under the initiative of District Magistrate Durga Shakti Nagpal, with support from the corporate sector, entrepreneurs, and voluntary organisations.

Each kit, valued at approximately Rs 900, includes a mosquito net, an umbrella, a torch with batteries, two packets of sanitary pads, and a two-litre thermos for storing hot water.
The kits are being provided in addition to the financial assistance, compensation, and relief supplies already distributed by the state government. Priority has been given to destitute women, persons with disabilities, and elderly residents over 70 years of age in all flood-affected villages across the district’s five tehsils: Sadar, Nighasan, Dhaurahra, Gola Gokarannath, and Palia.
On Thursday, District Magistrate Nagpal, accompanied by MLA Yogesh Verma, distributed the kits to residents in Sadar tehsil. The administration has assured that more special CSR kits will be prepared if needed to reach additional flood victims.

Speaking about the initiative, DM Nagpal said, “Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath always stands with the people during disasters, providing all possible assistance and personally engaging with those affected. Following his vision, we have ensured that these special CSR kits reach the most vulnerable residents in the district.”
This initiative marks a proactive step in combining government relief with community and corporate participation to support flood-affected families in Lakhimpur Kheri.
