The Lucknow Municipal Corporation is stepping up its efforts to regulate pet ownership in the city, making dog licensing mandatory for all pet owners. As soon as someone brings home a dog, they are required to register it with the LMC.
This licensing system helps the civic body track the pet population, enforce vaccination norms, and uphold the Dog Control By-law 2003. It also supports better management of stray animals and helps curb diseases like rabies by ensuring every pet is recorded, vaccinated, and easily identifiable, ultimately promoting responsible pet ownership.
