At Meerut South station, announcements for Namo Bharat and Meerut Metro indicate that the metro will arrive at platform number two, but officials are unable to confirm the arrival or departure timings for trains to Modipuram. As a result, the inauguration date remains uncertain, leaving city residents frustrated despite the corridor reportedly being ready for operation.
Earlier, the inauguration was tentatively scheduled for September 30, prompting the district administration to prepare venues for the event and public gatherings. However, the event was postponed, and multiple alternate dates were proposed, yet the metro has not been inaugurated.

The corridor was initially targeted for completion by March 2025, and later extended to June 2025. Even after the June deadline passed, residents have been waiting, witnessing train sets running all night for trial runs.
MP Arun Govil has written to the Cabinet Minister for Urban Development, Manohar Lal Khattar, urging that the operation of Namo Bharat and Meerut Metro begin soon. In his letter, he highlighted the concerns and disappointment of residents over the continuous delays.
