With just three days remaining under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) programme of assembly constituency voter lists, election authorities have urged voters to promptly submit their enumeration forms. As of now, 73 per cent of voters in Meerut have returned their completed forms, while the deadline for online entry by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) is December 11.

Officials said that the names of 23 per cent of voters have been placed in the ASD list, which includes absent individuals, shifted, deceased or duplicated. Voters whose names appear in this list must submit the enumeration form within the remaining three days, failing which their names will be deleted from the electoral roll.

Deputy District Election Officer and ADM (Administration) Satyaprakash Singh stated that around four per cent of voters have collected the forms but have yet to return them. These voters have limited time to submit the completed forms to BLOs for online entry.

The ASD list, comprising approximately six lakh voters, will be prepared booth-wise and shared with Booth Level Agents of all political parties for verification. The list will also be displayed at polling booths, Gram Panchayat secretariats, block offices, and urban local body offices, allowing affected voters to file objections or seek corrections.

Meanwhile, addressing public concerns in Saharanpur, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath clarified that the SIR exercise will not impact the upcoming three-tier Panchayat elections, as it applies only to assembly constituency voter lists. District Election Officer and DM Dr VK Singh reiterated that the voter list for Panchayat elections is separate and is undergoing revision independently.
