Noida And Yamuna Expressway Speed Limit Update:  In order to prevent traffic accidents caused by fog and mist, the Uttar Pradesh Traffic Police has decided to lower the speed limit on the Noida and Yamuna Expressways during the winter. The speed limit for driving on these two expressways has been modified from December 15 to February 15. Light and heavy trucks will be subject to different regulations.

Speed Limit On Yamuna Expressway

The 100 kmph speed limit for light vehicles has been lowered to 75 kmph.
Heavy vehicle speed limits have been lowered from 80 kmph to 60 kmph.

Speed Limit On Noida Expressway

Light vehicle speed limits were lowered from 100 kmph to 75 kmph.
Heavy vehicle speed limits have been lowered from 60 kmph to 50 kmph.

Penalties For Not Adhering To The Limits

Those who fail to adhere to the given speed limits will be fined- Rs 2000 for light vehicles and Rs 4000 for heavy vehicles. This rule is applicable on both expressways, and the fine will be in effect from December 15 to February 15.

According to DCP (Traffic) Yamuna Prasad, the primary goal of lowering the speed limit is to avoid wintertime traffic accidents caused by fog and mist. One must adhere to the speed restriction when driving on the Noida and Yamuna Expressways. It is anticipated that these modifications will improve public safety and lower traffic accidents. Thus, when using these expressways, make sure to drive carefully and within the posted speed limit.
