Noida International Airport, also known as the Jewar Airport in western Uttar Pradesh is set for the second stage of trial operations from November 15,2024. The trial process will continue for one month, till December 15, 2024. Jewar Airport will be inaugurated on April 17, 2025, with two cargo, 25 domestic and three international flight services. These services will connect 25 cities of the country directly to Gautam Buddha Nagar in UP.
In the second stage, flights of Akasa Air, IndiGo and most probably Air India will take off and land daily till December 15, said Arun Veer Singh, Chief Executive Officer, Noida International Airport Limited, as quoted by an Indian Express report.
“This data will be uploaded on December 20 to the DGCA website and then we will apply for the aerodrome licensing,” Singh added.
The Jewar Airport is also likely to run its first international flights to Singapore, Dubai, and Zurich, the Swiss city. A total of 30 flights are expected to take off for various international and domestic destinations following the inauguration. Bookings for international flights are expected to start 90 days in advance, while domestic tickets will be available six weeks from the inauguration day.
“Initially, we have planned for the operation of 30 flights, of which 25 are domestic flights, three international and two cargo flights,” Singh said.
“The Director General of Civil Aviation has approved our flight calibrations after going through several reports relating to the runway, wind speed and with that we have completed the first stage of the airport operations,” he added.
