Couple Viral Video News: A manager at a toll plaza on the Poorvanchal Expressway has been accused of misusing surveillance cameras meant for the Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS). Instead of monitoring traffic, he allegedly used the system to record couples during private moments and later threatened them for money. The ATMS is designed to improve road safety through real-time monitoring using cameras, sensors and AI.

The accused, identified as Ashutosh Sarkar, was removed from service by the operating company after the matter surfaced.

Complaint Filed After Video Went Viral

According to a Deccan Herald report, the case came to notice when a video showing a couple inside their vehicle began circulating on social media. Following this, the couple lodged a complaint stating that the recording was made at the Haliyapur toll plaza in Sultanpur district. They alleged that Sarkar demanded Rs 32,000 from them to stop the video from being shared further. According to police, the couple had parked their car shortly before the toll plaza when the footage was captured.

More Extortion Allegations Emerge

Another youth has also filed a complaint, claiming that Sarkar extorted Rs 10,000 from him using a similar threat involving a video of him and his wife. Reports further suggest that the accused filmed women who stepped aside near the toll plaza to relieve themselves.

In a separate incident, Sarkar is suspected of recording a police team allegedly taking money from a truck driver. He then reportedly pressured the officers to pay him Rs 2,000.

Authorities have begun an inquiry into all allegations. Officials said further action will be taken after reviewing evidence and statements.
