A 15-member delegation of the Samajwadi Party will visit conflict-hit Sambhal on Saturday. The visit, according to news agency PTI, is being made to gather information about the violence that erupted after a court-ordered survey in the Shahi Jama Masjid complex, the party said on Friday. However, a senior official of the local administration said that prohibitory orders bar anyone from coming into the district on Saturday.

SP state president Shyam Lal Pal said a delegation will go to Sambhal on Saturday on the instructions of party chief Akhilesh Yadav. After taking detailed information about the violence, they will submit the report to the party chief, he said.

Congress state president Ajay Rai said that a Congress delegation will go to the city on December 2, reports news agency PTI. 

Sambhal Violence: Internet Restored In Sambhal

The internet service was shut down in the tehsil area after the violence during the survey at Jama Masjid on November 24. People heaved a sigh of relief after the internet was restored on Friday evening. Due to the internet shutdown, banking, online transactions, and other cyber-related work were completely disrupted. After the Jumme ki Namaaz was completed peacefully on Friday, the administration resumed the internet service at 4 pm.

Meanwhile, the ban on the entry of unauthorized outsiders in Sambhal district has been extended. Now the entry of public representatives of any party and office bearers of social organizations has been banned till December 10, reports jagran.com. In such a situation, the SP delegation coming to Sambhal on Saturday may be stopped from entering.

On Friday, relative peace prevailed in the city during the Friday prayers, with police ensuring maintenance of law and order.

Moradabad Divisional Commissioner Aunjaneya Kumar Singh said, "Namaz prayers have been offered peacefully in the entire district. The situation is peaceful. We are talking to the citizens and enlisting trust in them. People are cooperating with us. For us, it is important that law and order are maintained."

Tensions in Sambhal had been simmering since the local court ordered a survey of the mosque on November 19. Opposing the court-ordered survey of the Jama Masjid, people clashed with police, resulting in the deaths of four persons. The survey followed a petition filed by some persons in the local court, claiming that the site of the mosque was previously a Harihar temple.
