The Yogi government is set to recognise Sanskrit talents across Uttar Pradesh. The Sanskrit Pratibha Khoj and Sanskrit Adhyayan Protsahan Vritti initiative will connect talented youth with Sanskrit through a series of offline and online examinations. These exams will be conducted at the district, division, and state levels in July and August by the Uttar Pradesh Sanskrit Sansthan.
Participants who excel will receive awards in various categories. Two categories are open for participation: students from classes 6 to 12, and graduates and postgraduates. Detailed information regarding the initiative is available at upsanskritpratibhakhoj.com. State-level awards include Rs 11,000 for first place, Rs 7,000 for second, Rs 5,000 for third, and three consolation prizes of Rs 3,000 each.
The initiative aims to discover young Sanskrit talent from the district to the state level. District-level exams will run from July 5 to 31, with online exams from July 20 to 31. Division-level exams will be held from August 5 to 13, with online exams from September 10 to 20, followed by the state-level exam.
Category A (classes 6-12) will be tested on Sanskrit songs, general knowledge, shloka antyakshari, recitation of Ashtadhyayi, Amarakosha, Laghu Siddhanta Kaumudi, and Tarka Sangraha. Category B (graduates/postgraduates) will include Sanskrit general knowledge, speech, and dictation.
Former president of Uttar Pradesh Sanskrit Sansthan, Dr Vachaspati Mishra, stated that this initiative continues the effort to connect youth with Sanskrit, nurturing their hidden talents. Winners at district and division levels will also receive prizes. Every participant will receive a certificate, and those progressing to division and state levels will receive mementos and travel expenses.
