The Special Task Force (STF) has arrested a member of an international gang involved in drug trafficking. A total of 7.970 kg of charas (hashish) was recovered from the arrested Nepali citizen. The estimated value of the seized drugs is approximately four crore rupees. The STF is now searching for other members of the gang.
According to STF Inspector Yatindra Sharma, information was received about narcotics being trafficked from Nepal into Uttar Pradesh via Bihar. Acting on this tip, a team arrested Roshan Shah, a resident of Kalki-3, Kathmandu, Nepal, from the parking lot of Agra Fort at 8 pm on Tuesday. The 7.970 kg of charas, which was brought from Nepal, was recovered from his possession.
Rs 5,000 For Each Delivery
During interrogation, the accused revealed that he had met a man named Vinay in Kathmandu while drinking. Vinay had offered him five thousand rupees per trip to deliver a parcel. He stated that Vinay would hand over the parcel near a canal at the Raxaul, Bihar-Nepal border. Roshan was in Agra to deliver this parcel to a person named Kush and had successfully delivered parcels to Kush twice before.
Inspector Yatindra Sharma stated that a search is underway for other members of the gang and they will be arrested soon. The STF has filed a case against the accused at the Rakabganj police station, and he has been sent to jail by the court.
