The Yogi Adityanath government has announced an early distribution of student scholarships this year, prioritising timely financial aid for students. On September 26, more than 4 lakh students from across Uttar Pradesh will receive scholarships in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at the Jupiter Hall of Indira Gandhi Pratishthan.

Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Backward Classes Welfare and Divyangjan Empowerment, Narendra Kashyap, said the government has introduced a historic change by advancing scholarship disbursal from February–March to September. The move, coinciding with Navratri, is being projected as a Diwali gift for students.

In 2024, around 59 lakh students from backward classes, scheduled castes, and scheduled tribes benefited from the scheme. The number is set to rise to over 70 lakh in 2025, as the state continues to expand the scholarship programme’s reach.

Kashyap said the strategy was finalised under the guidance of CM Yogi, with coordination among the Backward Classes Welfare, Social Welfare, and Minority Welfare departments. The early disbursal aims to ensure students can utilise the funds at the right time.
