A man raped a six-year-old girl and threw her from the terrace in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr to conceal their identity.

According to a report by India Today, the incident was reported on January 2. The police said that they received information that the girl was found in a critical condition. The minor victim was rushed to Sikandrabad Community Health Centre, where doctors declared her dead.

The father of the girl accused two men, Veeru and Raju Kashyap, of committing the heinous crime. In his complaint to the police, he alleged that the victim was playing on the rooftop but was found lying in a field behind the building.

He alleged that Veeru and Raju raped and killed her. Based on his complaint, the police registered a case under Sections 70(2) and 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 5(m) and 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) formed three teams to trace and arrest the accused. The teams received input that the suspects were in hiding in an under-construction colony at Idris's premises.

The police team surrounded the entire area. Alarmed by this, the accused opened fire at the cops. In retaliation, both the accused sustained bullet injuries in their legs. After the encounter, the police arrested both the accused.

They were admitted to a hospital for treatment of their injuries. During the interrogation, the accused are reported to have confessed to their involvement in the crime. Further investigation into the matter is underway.

In a similar incident in UP's Lalitpur, the police arrested a man after an encounter for raping a minor girl.

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Kalu Singh said that around 3.45 am on Saturday, police surrounded Amjad Khan (35), who was absconding after allegedly raping the girl. Khan allegedly opened fire on the police team with a country-made pistol.

In retaliation, he was wounded in the leg. A country-made pistol, two empty cartridges, and one live cartridge were recovered from the injured accused, police added.
