Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed all districts to submit proposals for roads, bridges, and other development works within the next 10 days. Emphasising inclusive development, he instructed that these proposals should ensure coverage across all 403 assembly constituencies and be prepared in coordination with local public representatives. He further stated that the bhoomi poojan and foundation stone-laying ceremonies must also be conducted by elected representatives.

In a high-level review meeting held at his official residence on Thursday, the Chief Minister reviewed the action plan of the Public Works Department. He emphasised that proposals under the department’s 18 ongoing schemes should be designed to benefit each constituency through at least two to three projects, keeping in mind local needs and priorities.

As part of a push to promote religious tourism, CM Yogi proposed identifying the top 50 religious sites annually based on their historical significance and footfall. He stressed the need to prioritise the construction and upgrading of roads that connect to these sites, noting that improved connectivity not only enhances cultural experiences but also boosts the local economy.

To reduce road accidents, the Chief Minister directed officials to identify all black spots—currently numbering around 1,400 across the state—and install tabletop speed breakers at these locations. He attributed accidents primarily to speeding and poor road conditions.

CM Yogi instructed District Magistrates to identify flood-prone areas in advance and prepare proposals for the construction and repair of roads and small bridges. This proactive approach is aimed at ensuring rapid restoration of connectivity following heavy rainfall or floods.

To maintain high standards in development work, the Chief Minister ordered the appointment of a nodal officer in every district. These officers will conduct weekly inspections of ongoing projects and submit progress reports to the state government. He also warned that strict action would be taken against contractors compromising on quality.

The Chief Minister reiterated the importance of public representatives' presence in monthly and bi-monthly review meetings to ensure transparency and accountability in development initiatives. He added that with expressways like Purvanchal, Yamuna, Agra, Bundelkhand, and the under-construction Ganga Expressway transforming East-West connectivity, it is now essential to develop a robust North-South corridor for comprehensive regional integration.
