A Uttar Pradesh Police Constable’s wife took her life after harassment by in-laws in Lucknow. In a video, recorded by the victim before she took her life, she claimed that harassment by her in-laws. The police have recovered the video in which she is heard narrating the harassment she endured over time.
The woman, named Saumya Kashyap, in the video claimed that her in-laws, including her husband and brother-in-law, wanted to get rid of her so that her husband could remarry. Saumya said that her husband’s uncle, who is a lawyer, advised him to kill his wife. "The lawyer asked my husband to kill me. He said he will save my husband," Saumya Kashyap said in the disturbing video.

North Lucknow police officer Jitendra Dubey confirmed the constable's wife died by suicide. "The inspector in charge and senior officials inspected the spot and also informed the family members. A field unit was called in and a forensic test was done," the officer said.
Saumya’s husband, Constable Anurag Singhis currently posted with the Eagle Mobile Unit at the BKT (Bakwasi Kheda Thana) Police Station.
police personnel from the BKT station rushed to the spot after receiving the information via social media. Saumya’s body was found in a rented apartment.
The video was posted on the victim’s Instagram account shortly before her death. The video has gone viral since then.
