On the occasion of World Tourism Day (September 27), the Uttar Pradesh government has introduced a new initiative to boost faith tourism. Under the direction of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (UPSTDC) has launched one-day guided tours from Lucknow to Naimisharanya and Ayodhya.

The tours, designed to provide devotees with a safe, affordable, and meaningful travel experience, feature concessional fares and easy online booking at www.upstdc.co.in, with special discounts for senior citizens.

Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said that the initiative, in line with CM Yogi’s vision, aims to strengthen religious tourism by facilitating pilgrimages to key mythological sites. “Our priority is to ensure an experience that combines devotion with comfort and cultural enrichment,” he added.

Tour details:

Naimisharanya Tour: Operates Friday, Sunday, and Monday from 8:00 am to 7:30 pm. Fare: Rs 1,700 (Rs 1,000 for senior citizens). Sites include Chakratirtha, Vyas Gaddi, and Lalita Devi Temple.

Ayodhya Tour: Operates Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 am to 8:30 pm. Fare: Rs 2,000 (Rs 1,000 for senior citizens). Sites include Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, Hanumangarhi, and Ram ki Paidi.

UPSTDC Managing Director Isha Priya said that each package includes guided storytelling on mythological tales, meals, refreshments, and a souvenir. Special attention has been given to the dignity and comfort of senior citizens.

Officials said the guided tours will not only promote cultural exchange and strengthen community bonding but also open new avenues for tourists and devotees to connect with Uttar Pradesh’s spiritual heritage.
