The Uttar Pradesh government is set to enhance the quality of education in all government secondary schools through the implementation of 'Project Alankar'. The initiative aims to equip schools across the state with essential basic facilities such as clean drinking water, proper sanitation, electricity, furniture, and smart classrooms. No school will be left out of this upgradation drive.
The decision was taken during a high-level review meeting chaired by the Additional Chief Secretary for Secondary Education, Deepak Kumar, on Thursday. He directed officials to ensure strict adherence to the academic calendar in all government secondary schools. The move is intended to improve the overall standard of education and ensure students are well-prepared ahead of examinations.

Under the new guidelines, schools must complete academic sessions on time and ensure the timely completion of the syllabus. Adequate time should be provided to students for revision and exam preparation. In addition to academics, sports will also be promoted actively. Schools have been instructed to organise more competitions to encourage sportsmanship and physical development among students.
For non-government-aided institutions, the state will strengthen the promotion of the 'Sahyog Grant Yojana'. Officials have been asked to create awareness about the scheme to ensure its benefits reach a larger number of schools.
In line with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s emphasis on promoting Sanskrit, the state will also focus on strengthening Sanskrit education, particularly in districts such as Chandauli.
Officials from the government, education directorate, and divisional levels were present at the meeting, where they were instructed to ensure the timely and effective implementation of all measures aimed at improving educational infrastructure and quality across the state.
