Union Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to attend a grand appointment letter distribution ceremony for the newly recruited constables of Uttar Pradesh Police, scheduled to be held on June 15 in Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, along with the Union Home Minister, will hand over appointment letters to 60,244 successful candidates in what is being termed the largest such ceremony in the state’s history. However, Shah’s official itinerary is yet to be confirmed.

The event will take place at Vrindavan Yojana on Rae Bareli Road, after earlier plans to host it at Ekana Stadium were revised. The mega recruitment drive includes 12,048 female candidates among the selected constables, and basic training for all candidates has already begun.

The state government is preparing to use the event as a significant outreach to the youth, projecting employment and transparency in recruitment. Top officials, ministers, and senior leaders are expected to be present.

Given the scale of the event, extensive security arrangements are being put in place. Director General of Police Rajiv Krishna has issued detailed instructions regarding the arrival, attire, and accommodation of candidates. Gazetted officers will escort the candidates to the venue and oversee their stay and other logistical arrangements.

This recruitment drive had earlier faced a setback due to a paper leak, which led to the cancellation of the initial exam. The examination was later re-conducted under tight security measures.
