The long-awaited upgrade of the narrow and congested Rampura-Gohan road is finally set to begin in Uttar Pradesh’s Jalaun district. The road will be widened to seven meters, significantly improving connectivity to the Urai headquarters and easing transportation challenges for commuters and farmers.

This development is expected to benefit nearly two lakh residents across 110 villages, enabling farmers to transport their produce more efficiently and access markets with greater ease.

The nine-kilometer road widening project, with an estimated cost of Rs 9.82 crore, has been approved following the persistent efforts of BJP MLA Mulchandra Niranjan, who raised public concerns with the Chief Minister.

Highlighting the heavy traffic and the road’s critical role in linking the district headquarters, the MLA stressed the urgent need for expansion. The state government has now sanctioned the seven-meter widening of the Rampura-Gohan stretch.

Additionally, approval has been granted for widening another key road in the region—the Gopalpura-Kurtala road. Work on both projects is expected to commence soon.
