UP Shocker:  A shocking incident has come to light from Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli district, where a woman allegedly plotted her husband's murder with the help of her lover, who is also the victim’s cousin. The victim, identified as Shahnawaz, was stabbed and shot dead by four men while he was on his way to attend his brother-in-law’s wedding ceremony with his wife, Maifreen.

UP Shocker: Why Did Wife Get Her Husband Killed?

According to the investigation by the police officials, Maifreen got her husband killed with her alleged lover, Tasavvur, as Shahnawaz was opposing and became an obstacle in their relationship. Tasavvur was also Shahnawaz’s cousin. When Shahnawaz came to know about his wife's affair with his cousin, he started opposing it. Eventually, the duo planned the murder and got Shahnawaz killed.

Around 10 AM on Thursday, four unknown men on two two-wheelers overtook and stopped Shahnawaz, while he was riding to attend his brother-in-law's wedding in Shamli district. They hit him with sticks, stapped him multiple times, and shot him with a pistol, an official said.

Soon after, Shahnawaz was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Doctors found three deep knife wounds on his hand, chest and neck.

Shahnawaz was a resident of Haryana and worked as a furniture artisan. Following the incident, his wife filed a complaint at the Kairana Police Station. Initially, Shahnawaz's family believed that it was an incident of robbery and that his bike and a garland of currency worth Rs 1.5 lakh, which he was taking to the wedding, were missing. Soon after, the police found Shahnawaz’s bike nearby and ruled that Shahnawaz's wife, with the help of her lover and three people, had killed him, as Shahnawaz knew about his wife’s affair.

Police have arrested Tasavvur and one other accused, while Maifreen is currently on the run. “We have arrested two accused and seized the murder weapons from them. We have also accessed the CCTV footage, and the investigation is underway. The victim's wife is on the run, and we are on the lookout for her and the remaining accused,” an official said.
