In a major security push, Uttar Pradesh is finalising a comprehensive action plan to intensify the crackdown on Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators, who officials say pose a growing threat to internal security.

According to sources, a detailed biometric profile of all infiltrators lodged in detention centres will soon be prepared, including fingerprints, iris scans, facial data and other identification details.

A “negative list” of suspected infiltrators is also being compiled and will be shared with police forces in other states to prevent the re-entry of individuals once expelled. Officials said the new biometric database will make future identification significantly easier.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed that detention centres be equipped with state-of-the-art technology and multi-layered security. Advanced CCTV systems will be installed to monitor all movements, and complete records of detainees will be maintained.

Authorities believe the identification drive will also help eliminate a large number of ineligible beneficiaries enrolled in government welfare schemes and strengthen law and order. Officials said many infiltrators have previously been found involved in smuggling and other criminal activities, with several such individuals arrested during investigations across districts.
