The Uttar Pradesh government will distribute essential commodities to ration cardholders from December 10 to 28, the Food and Logistics Department announced.

Under the National Food Security Act, Antyodaya Anna Yojana beneficiaries in several districts, including Agra, Aligarh, Firozabad, Kasganj, Mainpuri, Etah, Etawah, Farrukhabad, Gonda, Hapur, Auraiya, Bahraich, Ballia, Badaun, Bulandshahr, Hardoi, Hathras, Kannauj, Kanpur Nagar, Mirzapur, Rampur, Sambhal and Unnao, will receive 14 kg wheat, 16 kg fortified rice and 5 kg maize. In case maize is unavailable, rice will be provided as a substitute.

In the remaining districts, beneficiaries will be given 14 kg of wheat and 21 kg of rice free of cost. Additionally, Antyodaya cardholders will receive 3 kg of sugar for the October–December period at Rs 18 per kg, amounting to Rs 54 per card.

Ration distribution will take place at fair price shops between 8 am and 12 pm, and again from 2 pm to 6 pm. Eligible Household (Patra Grihasthi) cardholders will receive 2 kg of wheat and 3 kg of fortified rice during this cycle.
