UP weather update: As monsoon remains active in Uttar Pradesh, rainfall has continued in Lucknow, Barabanki, Gonda, Hardoi, Sitapur, Ayodhya, Bundelkhand and some western Uttar Pradesh districts. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also predicted cloudy weather with light rainfall throughout the week after Saturday in the state. Saturday recorded a maximum temperature of 33.4 degrees celsius while the minimum temperature was recorded at 27.7 degrees celsius. 

The highest temperature in the state was recorded in Varanasi at 35.5 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature was recorded at 23 degrees Celsius in Najibabad. Several districts, including Bareilly, Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Barabanki, Bahraich, Sonbhadra observed rains.

Thunderstorm is predicted on Sunday in Ambedkar Nagar, Amroha, Ayodhya, Badaun, Baghpat, Barabanki, Bareilly, Bijnor, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Hardoi, Lakhimpur Kheri, Meerut, Moradabad, Muzaffarnagar, Pilibhit, Rampur, Saharanpur, Sambhal, Shahjahanpur, Shamli and Sitapur.

A warning has also been issued by the department regarding possiblelightning strikes which may occur along with the thunderstorm in some parts of the state. The lightning strikes and thunderstorm pose a threat to electricity supply, livestock and property. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 34 degrees Celsius on Sunday while the minimum will be around 27 degrees Celsius.

According to a senior scientist at the Meteorological department, Danish, rain accompanied with thunderstorms are predicted in parts of Bundelkhad and western Uttar Pradesh on Sunday while Luckhnow and its neighbouring districts may witness cloudy weather. Post September 18, most parts of the state will witness clear weather and temperature may rise by a few degrees.
