A college student from Galgotia University died in a tragic road accident on the service road of the Yamuna Expressway near the Salarpur underpass in the Dankaur police station area on Sunday morning.

The student, identified as Vivek Sharma, a resident of Dhudhera village under the Jewar police station limits, was reportedly pursuing engineering at Galgotia University. He was riding his motorcycle from his village to the campus when an unidentified heavy vehicle allegedly collided with him, leading to fatal injuries.

Police said preliminary findings suggest that after the impact, the vehicle’s wheel may have run over him. Officers reached the spot soon after passersby alerted them and sent the body for post-mortem examination.

According to officials, the helmet worn by the student was of a local brand and may not have provided adequate protection. The accident scene was cordoned off, and the police have begun analysing CCTV footage from nearby areas to trace the vehicle involved.

Family members rushed to the location after being informed and were inconsolable. A deep sense of grief has enveloped the household of the deceased.

Station House Officer Munendra Singh said that efforts are underway to identify the vehicle and take appropriate action.

In a separate incident, Two engineering students from Galgotias University, Aryan and Zikrullah, both residents of Bihar living in the Dankaur area, tragically lost their lives in a road accident late Friday night. The mishap occurred when they were travelling on a motorcycle towards Greater Noida and reportedly crashed into a divider while passing through the Eastern Peripheral Expressway underpass.

Both students suffered severe injuries and, despite being rushed for medical treatment, died during care. Police have completed the inquest report and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination, while the families have been informed. An initial investigation indicates the motorcycle hit the divider, and authorities are continuing to probe the incident further.
