The Uttarakhand District Administration has declared a holiday in 20 schools on Monday due to the arrival of President Droupadi Murmu in Dehradun, in light of traffic diversions and security measures. All of these private schools are located along the route of the President's convoy.
Since managing traffic outside these schools during the President's journey by road could pose a significant challenge, Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Singh had requested District Magistrate Savin Bansal to declare a holiday for some schools.
For the convenience of pupils and parents, the District Magistrate ordered a one-day holiday for these schools. Following the District Magistrate's order, Additional District Magistrate (Finance and Revenue) KK Mishra issued the holiday orders on Saturday evening.
The Additional District Magistrate stated that the remaining schools in the district will operate as usual.
Schools set to witness one day holiday include Grace Academy Cantt Road, Kendriya Vidyalaya Hathibarkala, Scholar Home Rajpur Road, Delhi Public School Rajpur Road, Brooklyn School Curzon Road, Brightland School Curzon Road, Hillgrange School EC Road, Marshall School EC Road, Doon International School EC Road, Sherwood School Nehru Colony, Summer Valley School Teg Bahadur Road, Heritage School MKP Chowk, Convent of Jesus and Mary School Convent Road, St Joseph's Academy Rajpur Road, Manav Bharti School Nehru Colony, Vivekanand School Jogiwala, SGRR School Karanpur Chowk, Jaswant Modern School Rajpur Road, Flyfoot Public School and DAV Public School Defence Colony.
