Viral Video: A night out for dinner turned into a shocking incident in Northampton, England, when four men walked out of an Indian restaurant without paying a hefty bill. The drama unfolded at Saffron restaurant on August 4 around 10:11 pm, and it was all caught on CCTV. The video, shared by The Independent on Instagram, first shows the group entering the restaurant. Hours later, the same men are seen suddenly leaving their table and bolting towards the exit. A quick-thinking staff member races after them, but they manage to get away.
According to the caption, the group had enjoyed a feast worth 197.30 pounds (around Rs 21,000), including several curries, lamb chops, and other dishes. In a Facebook post, the restaurant revealed the bill and condemned the act, saying, “This kind of behaviour isn’t just theft, it affects hardworking small businesses and our local community.”

Surprisingly, this wasn’t the only recent case of people trying to dodge restaurant bills. In another viral video from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, a group of friends allegedly planted a bone in a vegetarian biryani to avoid paying. They had ordered both veg and non-veg biryanis and then claimed the veg one had a bone in it. But their plan failed when the staff checked CCTV footage and called the police.
The post shared just a day ago received significant likes and comments from social media users. "Please sympathise. These are obviously aspiring engineers and doctors who can’t get work because of immigrants," a user wrote. "If you can't afford it, eat at home then! Why are people so lazy to cook these days?" a second user wrote.
