5 Countries That Have Banned WhatsApp: Can you imagine a life without the popular instant messaging platform WhatsApp? If your answer is a no, then you should also know that you are not alone, as the app is one of the most used ones all around the world. With its convenient services for its users to its international popularity, the app has pretty much shrunk the world as far as flawless global communication is concerned. However, believe it or not, there is a sect of people which is NOT a part of this humongous WhatsApp family. And no, it's mostly not by their choice, but more because of the country’s restrictions on the app.
So we thought, to let you know about some countries where WhatsApp is banned. Here are 5 nations where WhatsApp is banned.
China
The first country on the list is China. With the Chinese Government and Meta’s massaging platform not finding common ground over certain ‘permissions’, the app has been banned in the country.
North Korea
Of course, the second country on this list is North Korea. This is the country that needs no explanation for its presence on a list like this that ‘connects’ the globe together.
UAE
Next on the list is the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where the app’s calls and video calls have been banned due to VoIP regulations.

Iran
Another nation on the list is Iran. The ban here is to reportedly eliminate the ‘influence’ that the Western countries may have on the people of Iran, leading to ‘protests’.
Syria
The last on the list is Syria. With WhatsApp following its ‘end-to-end encryption’ regulation, the app is banned in Syria as well.
