IIT Roorkee Dance Viral Video: Just a few days ago, a dance performance from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay was all that everyone could talk about on the internet. And no, the reason was rather negative, as most netizens were left triggered after watching an IIT student dance to one of the most hit item numbers of Bollywood; Malaika Arora’s ‘Munni Badnaam’ song. The matter was hardly out of the spotlight, when another video began to float on social media, drawing similar dissatisfaction. This time, another IIT student was seen dancing to the latest hit item song ‘Taras’. Donning a black top with a black skirt, the student surely aced the performance but failed to impress the internet.

The exact date of the event could not be confirmed. The clip went viral and left people reacting. Most chastised the student for performing a dance routine that did not match the institute’s reputation and image.

The IIT dance video was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘HateDetectors’. The post was captioned, “After the dance performance by #IITBombay students, a video of a girl student from #IITRoorkee went viral on social media. The clip, which shows her dancing to the popular Bollywood song ‘Taras Ni Aaya’ during a college event, has sparked reactions from both critics and supporters. Critics have blamed item songs in Bollywood for such performances at renowned institutions. Some even questioned her upbringing.” The video was shared a few days ago and pulled more than 5K views from people.
