Bareilly Man Viral Reddit Post: A man from Bareilly is winning hearts online with his inspiring journey from earning Rs 7,000 a month to owning two flats and being almost debt-free by 35. His story, shared on Reddit, is not about luck or overnight success; it’s about discipline, smart savings, and never giving up. He started with a low-paying job in Noida in 2013, later moved to Bengaluru for a course, faced over 45 job rejections, but kept going. A powerful tip from an HR, “Save like it’s rent, avoid credit cards”, changed his mindset. He began tracking every rupee, lived simply, invested wisely, and avoided impulsive spending.
By 2018, he had enough savings and took a Rs 55–60 lakh loan, with Rs 7 lakh help from his father, to buy his first flat in Noida. He paid extra EMIs and used all bonuses to reduce the loan faster. In 2021, after getting married, he moved back to Bengaluru and took another Rs 40 lakh loan for a second flat, plus Rs 10 lakh for a car.
Despite loans of over Rs 1 crore, he’s repaid 75–80% and is close to being debt-free. His simple rules: no shortcuts, no lifestyle inflation, and no quitting. As he says, “ I wasn’t gifted. I wasn’t fast. I wasn’t a topper. I didn’t crack IIT. I didn’t go abroad. I stayed consistent. I stayed disciplined. I stayed hungry not for praise, but for peace.”

"Everything's good advice, apart from the credit card part. If used sensibly and smartly, it's a great asset to have a good limit credit card," added a fourth user. "But why 2 flats instead of that might have gone for some other investment instruments naa just asking and just trying to pick your brain," the fifth user added. "A great story of success by defining failures," wrote another user. "This is really nice and wholesome!" added another user.
