Bengaluru Welcomes Metro’s Purple Line: Gone are the days when it used to take hours to cover a distance of just 43km, Challaghatta and Kadugodi (Whitefield), within the city of Bengaluru. Not to forget the painful traffic snarl that used to stretch the journey of mere hours into more than 5 hours or so. Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) began its Purple Line service today, October 09, and the citizens are going crazy with excitement. Metro’s Purple Line is Bengaluru's latest stretch, which is fully operational and will run from KR Puram’s Byappanahalli to Kengeri’s Challaghatta. The line will pass through 37 stations and take a little over an hour to reach from one endpoint to another.

The service began without any inauguration or ceremony at 5 AM. But the netizens were quick to take care of that as they took over the internet and turned it into a virtual celebration as they shared their reactions on the new service that will benefit the citizens on another level. When it comes to traffic jams, Bengaluru has always managed to secure the top spot. The service was opened without any inauguration because of pressure by the travellers, according to the reports.

Taking to the internet, most netizens expressed their excitement over the new metro purple line and took over social media comparing the ease of travelling in the metro with the difficulties they faced by road. Many also commented on the mega price difference and commended the development.
