Black Friday Sale 2024: It’s that time of the year again, when even the ‘normal’ shoppers who believe in calculated shopping and the vital importance of savings, are all set to turn into ‘thirsty’ shopaholics! The world just celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday- November 28, making the very next Friday- November 29- a Black Friday. In a nutshell, this year’s biggest Black Friday sale is back and people are ready to finally empty their wishlists! For those unaware, the Black Friday sale is considered one of the biggest of the season, marking the beginning of the holiday season sale and shopping. The concept reportedly began in Philadelphia in the early 1960s- as per Britannica- where the connotation was rather negative. Reportedly, the day after Thanksgiving used to create a whole lot of chaos for ‘law enforcement’, keeping in mind the crowd stores used to witness as people used to start their holiday shopping.

However, with time, the definition changed for good! Retailers and stores eventually took charge and turned the entire ‘Black Friday’ thing into something that customers would wait for quite eagerly- and the rest is history. Although the concept began in the West, it eventually reached other countries as well, despite Thanksgiving not being a popular holiday in most of them. For such countries, the day became more about shopping, discounts, and sales. With that said, this year’s Black Friday sale has triggered an equally exciting reaction as people are rushing to all the online apps and nearby stores to take advantage of the mega sale.
