Work life often comes with its own share of bizarre experiences, and most of the employees have at least one crazy workplace story to tell. Social media is full of such posts where the employees share their workplace shenanigans, leaving the rest too shocked to react. A similar incident was shared by a Redditor, where they were accused by their boss for an unimaginable  reason. Taking to the internet, the user shared that their boss scolded them for using the office’s electricity for personal use by charging their phone. The post went viral and left people shocked as they found the boss’ reason bizarre.

The story was posted by Reddit user ‘Melodic-Code-2594’, with the title, “Is charging your personal phone while at work considered stealing electricity?”

In the post, the user described that their boss created a huge scene at the workplace for charging their phone. The boss accused the employee of using the office’s electricity for personal use. The Redditor then asked the netizens to give suggestions on the incident. “My boss got onto me today for charging my phone at work, saying I'm stealing the company's electricity for personal use. What do you guys think? I'm not on my phone all day or anything I just sometimes forget to charge it at night before I go to bed. It's a desk job,” the description of the post read.

The Reddit user then edited the post and shared that the same boss has been asked to leave the office at the end of the month. “Edit: Update. Just found out today through an announcement to the team that our boss who made this comment to me is being let go at the end of the month. Probably why he was lashing out,” the description further read.

The Reddit post went viral on social media as people found the boss’ behaviour rude. Other netizens found the incident funny and shared their ways of handling such situations. The post was shared a day ago and has gained 1.6K upvotes so far.

The netizens flooded the comment box with their thoughts on the incident. “Saying that's stealing company electricity is like saying breathing is stealing company air or drinking from a water fountain is stealing company water,” a user said. “Tell him the 3 cents it takes for you to charge your phone is nothing compared to what he's stealing by not paying you all enough,” commented a second person. “There are really no words. If a boss said that to me, I might ask him if the company is struggling financially,” joked another netizen.
