The video shows the man going down on one knee to propose, while shoppers and visitors watched curiously. The woman, clearly surprised, says 'yes,' and the moment seems like a typical romantic gesture, until it takes an unexpected twist.
Instead of pulling out a ring, the man opens a small box containing sindoor and applies it to her forehead, a traditional Hindu marriage ritual. The crowd erupts in cheers as the couple shares a hug. Moments later, he pulls out a mangalsutra from his pocket and ties it around her neck, officially marking them as husband and wife.

The video at Gaur Central Mall quickly went viral online. Clips of the unusual wedding sparked mixed reactions, with some people amazed by the bold and spontaneous gesture, while others were left laughing at the surprising twist in the proposal.
The video shared on X (Formerly Twitter) by the handle '@GreaterNoidaW' was captioned, "Ghaziabad is not for beginners! At Gaur Central Mall, RDC, a boy proposed with a ring and then married her on the spot, applying sindoor and a mangalsutra." Since shared, it pulled 163K views from users. Netizens were quick to react to the viral video.
"I like. The bride, the groom, and witnesses ( the original intent of people being present at weddings). What more do we need?" a user wrote. "Don’t understand this proposal in the open concept! Very artificial. Just discuss when to get married and then get it done," a second user wrote.
"If they are financially independent, then it's fine; otherwise, if they do all this and then go back to their parents' homes, then such dramatic addicts must get a couple of slaps from their mothers," added a fourth user. "Movies are responsible for this," added another user.
